I recently submitted my tax return to the IRS, but they flagged it for errors. I provided evidence of my calculations via certified mail on July 27, which they received. However, on August 3, I received a duplicate notice from the IRS. Due to their processing errors, my child is not listed as a dependent, resulting in a lack of child payments. The tax return was filed as married filing jointly with a dependent, but they are not acknowledging it as such and are attributing my income to my spouse who does not work. My income was $15,[redacted] last year, while my spouse, S., had zero income due to being incarcerated for most of [redacted]. Our dependent is our son, C. W. I am worried as I have not received my refund, and I missed the child payments for July and August. Thank you.

I recently received my child tax credit by mail. Unfortunately, with my online bank account, depositing the check has been a challenge. Despite multiple attempts and calls to the bank representatives, they cannot read the front or back clearly. I signed the check and wrote "for deposit to [bank's name] only" on it. Since the images are unclear, too many attempts may lead to rejection. As my online bank (Chime) doesn't accept mailed checks, I'm considering returning it to the IRS directly. I'm hoping they can issue a new check, allowing me to cash it elsewhere without facing the same issue. This delay is causing me a lot of stress as I rely on this money to pay rent. I appreciate any advice on this matter. Thank you.

I believe there is an error in my [redacted] tax refund. I received a letter from you stating there might be a mistake regarding my recovery rebate credit. I remember filing with Tax Act and not entering any incorrect information. The letter mentions four possible issues, but I am sure the first three are not applicable to me. My social security number is accurate, I do not have any other income on my taxes, and my income is below $75,[redacted] annually. This leaves the possibility that you are suggesting I inputted my taxes incorrectly, which I am certain I did not. The difference in my expected refund is approximately $[redacted], and I strongly believe you have miscalculated it. I kindly request a review and correction of this matter.

I hired an individual who committed tax fraud for four years, facing serious legal consequences. The IRS agents in Hawaii were attempting to prosecute her. Additionally, she was embezzling money from my partner, who was also my accountant. As a result, I lost everything including my company and homes back in [redacted]. My mother's health deteriorated due to investigating this situation, leaving her in a coma. The individual withdrew a large sum of money and deposited it with Cisco, which I suspect came from me. How could someone on a low income afford this? I am eager to discuss this matter with the IRS in Honolulu and seek justice for the embezzlement at Pacific Isle Packaging in Pearl City, Hawaii. This person's actions have had a severe impact on my life. I can provide more details if needed. Thank you, IRS, for your assistance.

My husband and I qualify for the advanced child tax credit monthly payments. We received July's payment. However, the CTC department informed us that our August payment was part of a glitch. When I contacted the Department of Treasury, they said, after providing our SSNs, that we aren't scheduled to receive it. They advised us to contact the IRS. We have been led in circles and desperately need assistance. I spend 2 to 4 hours daily on the phone trying to resolve this issue. After 2.5 hours, I am sent back to the main menu to start all over. We are low income, less than $15,[redacted] a year, and I receive disability. It is frustrating to be eligible but the IRS won't process the payment. There is no check even in the system, and something is clearly wrong with our account.

We submitted our taxes using TurboTax in March. We got our state refund but not the federal one. We also haven't received any monthly child tax credit payments. With no income for months and a family of five, including three young children, we urgently need a new well as our current one has e coli, making us sick. I've been unable to reach anyone to inquire about our taxes or child tax credit payments. If someone could call me to provide an update or help resolve the matter, it would be greatly appreciated. We are facing significant challenges and require our CTC payments, tax refund, or any assistance available. The uncertainty is causing us a lot of stress. Thank you sincerely for your assistance. We were planning to start work through welfare, but due to Covid, we are in quarantine until next month. I apologize for the lengthy message. Thank you so much.

I submitted my taxes in mid-May, just before the deadline. I filed to ensure I could receive the stimulus money, which I haven't received yet despite being eligible with one dependent. I sent a paper return and contacted a tax advocate two months later, but they couldn't find my file. I've been trying to reach the IRS weekly as advised, but I can't get through and it's been over three months. I'm in a tough spot financially after a breakup and struggling to pay rent and feed my kids. I've explored all assistance options but can't prove my under-the-table job for unemployment. I urgently need help tracking my return, as it should have been deposited by now. I fear further delays will impact future stimulus payments. I'm desperate for assistance and tired of getting runarounds, hoping someone can finally locate my file.

I granted my sister power of attorney to file my taxes on March 23, [redacted] at the Jackson Hewitt tax service on [redacted] Tamiami Trail in the Port Charlotte Town Center Mall. Three months ago, I received a notice requiring further review for 60 days. On July 6, [redacted], I received notice 5071C requesting identity verification before refund issuance. I attempted to verify my identity at www.idverify.irs.com but was directed to visit my local tax office for verification. Unfortunately, I am unable to reach anyone at the IRS office as they are by appointment only. Despite my efforts, my $6,[redacted] refund has been on hold for 5 months. I paid Jackson Hewitt $[redacted] for tax preparation, only to encounter issues. My anticipated $5,[redacted] refund meant for my Bank of America checking account remains in processing due to identity verification challenges. Assistance in securing an appointment would be greatly appreciated in resolving this ongoing predicament.

I recently received a 5017C letter to verify my identity. I have been unsuccessful in doing so online through the IRS website or id.me. I have attempted to contact the IRS verify hotline at 1-[redacted] for months but keep getting disconnected due to high call volume. Even when reaching out to tax advocates, I faced the same issue. I am not very proficient with computers and need assistance due to the financial strain this situation is causing. I have not received the August child tax credit check, although I received last month's. I am willing to provide the control number on my letter if necessary.

Hello, I am seeking some assistance with a tax issue I have encountered at work. Recently, a gentleman at my workplace was offering free tax services with a sign, so I decided to give it a try. Although I usually handle my taxes on TurboTax myself, this time the individual prepared my taxes at his office. Two weeks later, I discovered that there were misspelled names, incorrect job information, and I mistakenly claimed child tax 1, which should have been for my grandchild who lives with me. Despite reaching out through email, in person, and via text to address the errors, he assured me he would make the corrections. I requested a copy of the corrected forms but have not received them. The corrections were allegedly completed by April 28, [redacted], and he mentioned that a portion was e-filed while the rest was supposedly mailed. As it is now August 25, [redacted], I am unable to reach anyone for answers. Even contacting the IRS has not been helpful, as their phone line leads to automated messages and lengthy wait times. I urgently need to know the status of my refund and require immediate assistance sorting out this matter.

After my wife left me in early February after 11 years of marriage, I received my 1099s in the mail. When I tried to file electronically, I was notified that my Social Security Number had already been used, as my wife had filed our taxes without my consent. I sought help from Rep. Jim Baird's office, who assisted in contacting the IRS on my behalf. Following their advice, I submitted a paper return with a notarized note explaining the situation and included the correspondence from the IRS. I have not received my third stimulus check and am concerned about any future stimulus payments, as I am on SSD and in need of financial assistance to secure housing independently.

I urgently need to upload my [redacted] corporate tax return to the IRS. Optima was hired for tax assistance in April [redacted] for both taxes and [redacted] payroll, costing over $[redacted]. They mistakenly used form [redacted] instead of 1120S for the S Corp, necessitating a revision. I now need to promptly submit the corrected return to the IRS for an EIDL loan regarding income verification. Considering contacting the revenue officer in Portland to expedite the process as repayment will be made from the loan. Our business faced challenges in its first year, worsened by the pandemic, impacting our supply chain and workforce. Your help is greatly appreciated.

I e-filed my taxes on February 1st, and I believe they got approved on February 15th. The only income I had to report was my unemployment benefits totaling $7,[redacted]. I am a single parent with a 12-year-old child. I had to go through an identity verification process, which I called about twice. Each time, I was told that my American Rescue Plan refund is being processed. However, when I check "Where's My Refund" or "Where's My Amended Tax Return," I don't see any changes. I've seen online that some people may need to amend their taxes, and I'm concerned I might be one of them. I'm struggling to get a clear answer from anyone. I provided my details during the identity verification process: April Gray, born on February 15, [redacted], residing at [redacted] Boardwalk Avenue, Shepherdsville, Kentucky [redacted]. My last four SSN digits are [redacted]. I hope someone can assist me with clear instructions as I am feeling confused. Thank you for your time and consideration. Respectfully, April Gray.

I recently filed an amended return using Form 1040X with the new relief provided in Form 8915E, which allows me to average out my 403b retirement over 3 years. This resulted in an overpayment of taxes. The amended return was received on 5/3/21 and processed on 7/30/21 according to the system. I spoke to an IRS representative who advised me to call back if I hadn't received anything after 3 weeks. However, I have not received a direct deposit or a check in the mail. I am uncertain about how the money will be delivered as I have heard conflicting information about direct deposits for amended returns. I am facing a foreclosure on my home as the funds need to be with PNC Mortgage by 8/31/21. I started a new job, but the pay is insufficient, and I am desperate to know when I will receive the money. I also believe I am eligible for the third stimulus payment given my reduced gross income. Please assist me in preventing homelessness. Thank you, Gregg G.

I have been receiving child support payments for a year that were taken from my ex-husband's tax return for back child support. Recently, the Department of Human Services informed me that I need to return the money because my ex-husband filed an amendment to his taxes. He still owes nearly $10,[redacted] in support arrears. I want to resolve this before it goes to collections. I've tried reaching out to the IRS and DHS, but haven't had any success. It doesn't make sense to me that I'm being asked to pay back support that was rightfully ordered for my child. Who should I contact to sort out this issue?

I have been pursuing a custody amendment for two years now. I am the primary caregiver for my two children. Unfortunately, my ex-wife left us and relocated to an unknown location in Philadelphia. She has not been supporting our children financially and seems to have received all the stimulus checks. Due to the pandemic, I lost my job and my kids and I are struggling financially. I have been attempting to contact your team for assistance without success. It's been challenging for us, and my ex-wife has been benefiting unfairly from government support while not contributing to our kids' well-being. I'm reaching out for help as a responsible father who is puzzled by the situation and seeking a resolution.

I am currently residing in Chile and have faced challenges cashing my EIP3 check. Unfortunately, the American Embassy in Chile was also unable to assist me in this matter. Additionally, I have encountered issues with my first two EIP payments, which were returned to the IRS. I was advised by an IRS representative to claim these payments through form [redacted] recovery rebate credit and provide a US bank account for direct deposit. However, this method has not been successful, as I continue to receive notices and my EIP3 check via mail in Chile. I have attempted to contact the IRS multiple times from Chile, but the long waiting times have made it difficult to receive assistance. I am considering returning the EIP3 check to the IRS and would like to explore the possibility of receiving a debit card instead, as suggested by the embassy. Any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. If my SS# is required, please let me know.

I share custody of my two daughters with my ex-partner and typically don't need to file taxes due to my disability benefits. Despite being the primary caregiver, my ex usually claims the children on his taxes. However, he failed to file his taxes for the year [redacted]. When details about the Child Tax Credit emerged, I found it confusing at first. Eventually, on June 30, I learned I could use the non-filers tool to submit my taxes, claim the children, and receive the CTC. Initially, the IRS notified my ex about the CTC based on his [redacted] taxes until I filed mine. After filing, I received a refund that included the stimulus payments for my daughters that my ex had already received. I expected the CTC to switch to me, especially since my [redacted] taxes were the most recent. However, when I checked the payment status online, it showed I was ineligible. I also did not receive the anticipated August payment. Despite my efforts to find a solution and contact the IRS, I haven't been successful. As a single parent relying solely on Disability income, I urgently need this financial support. I hope the IRS can resolve this issue promptly.

I filed an amended 1040x for the third time, which was accepted on 08-25-[redacted] as advised by a tax advocate and an IRS agent. I had worked for the first four months of [redacted] and then received unemployment for the remainder of the year. My former employer did not provide me with a W2 despite my requests. After contacting the IRS, they intervened and requested the W2 from my employer, who incorrectly reported my income as $[redacted] for the 4 months instead of the actual total of $17,[redacted]+ as evidenced by my bank records. I have all the necessary documentation, including certified copies of the checks I received and cashed. They withheld taxes from my paychecks, but I have only received half of my initial return of $8,[redacted] due to me. I have already used part of that to pay taxes on my unemployment benefits, which my wife also received. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated as soon as possible.

I received the first economic impact payment via direct deposit. To get the second stimulus, I filed a [redacted] tax return for direct deposit to the same account. However, I have not yet received the third $[redacted] payment, neither via direct deposit nor mail. I am a disabled citizen receiving SSDI payments through Direct Express. Although your system states I am eligible for the third stimulus despite my disability, I have not seen the payment in my Direct Express account. I urgently need assistance as I received an eviction notice in late February. The stimulus is crucial for me to secure a new home given the risks of being disabled and contracting COVID-19, potentially facing homelessness by October.
